We are very happy that our human-oriented practices won a prestigious award such as BSC ISA.

As the leading brand of Turkey's technology world and e-commerce, we are happy to be successful by participating in the British Safety Council's International Occupational Safety Awards for the first time for more than 60 years. We believe this is an important opportunity to show that the health, safety, environment and welfare results of this important cupping institution are on the right track. With this award, Borusan Lojistik is proud to be a pioneer not only in the logistics sector, but also in the occupational safety. As a result of the strong communication and cooperation that we have established on this path on which we set out with the desire to optimize the working lives of all employees of Borusan Lojistik, our achievements today have emerged. It was extremely important for us to make the decision to participate in the British Safety Council's Awards Programme. There were previously no facilities among Coats companies that applied for this program and received awards. The areas we focused on in 2018 include improving the HSE culture of our employees constantly in the company, enabling them to be aware of the dangers and risks, focusing on machine safety, performing activities via various social clubs on welfare and their efforts, as well as accident reporting, research process and lessons learned, etc., and we continue working in line with our global targets in 2019, as well. Personally and as the whole company, we are very happy to receive the award on behalf of Turkey. Being granted this award by an independent organization also reinforces our happiness. We would like to thank our senior management team, colleagues and all our third-party friends for the full support they provided to us during the application.

First of all, we are proud to be granted this award. The International Safety Awards demonstrate our organization's commitment to health, safety and welfare throughout 2018. Every day we take a further step with a focus on excellence. We actively participate in processes and try to make a difference by rendering our workplace safer. I believe that the success we obtained by receiving this award in 2018 will motivate us in the best way for 2019. The award carries out a very important mission in introduction of the announced achievements as models and methods.

It is a great pride to be the first cement factory in Turkey to have this award. It is very valuable to receive an award from an international, well-established, independent organisation such as the British Safety Council. In cement factories, occupational health and safety management is a pioneer for many sectors. But now the goal should not be to ensure legality or zero occupational accidents. The goal should be setting concrete goals that will improve employee engagement and increase welfare levels, and monitoring, measureing them and realizing improvements. At 3M, we see the basis of Operational Excellence as Occupational Safety; we believe that operational excellence cannot be mentioned in an environment where employee health and safety cannot be ensured. Being granted the British Safety Council's International Safety Award has been an important motivator for us.
